These days, you can game almost anywhere on the planet, anytime. But what if that planet was in the middle of an apocalypse? After you’ve stashed years of food, water, and toilet paper away, how will you pass the time? With this PC, you can be prepared to game until the whole mess to sort itself out.

you could likely get more fps/watt from a GA104 3060 rather than the GA106 in the EVGA 3050, if you are undervolting anyway it's a higher density chip with a larger die size for cooler contact so running the lower load should give you more time without the fans spinning and thus less power use. Setting up Nvidia's frame limiting would also shave off more load from the GPU (you are looking for "playable" at as low power use as possible so 60fps med/high 1080p is more than playable)

Did you run the monitor off the power bank as well? It seems like a 50+watt gaming monitor isn't in the power budget for a <100W PC.

The best gaming PC is the PC you like to game on, how you like to game on it

why not use a laptop for that . and as it seems you don't need the laptop monito and keyboard and trackpad you can remove them and save some watt

This is awesome!

But can it withstand EMP?

This is a sufficiently silly way for Linus to get paid to show off sponsor equipment and play with construction toys.  This is not a usable apocalyptical disaster survival plan.  Put as much effort into finding plot holes as you would watching Sharknado.

Just a heads up, the Coupon code in the video description does not work with the link it's associated with; and the site's own current specials (also on amazon) are more then 10%, through Sep 27th anyway. I had just been looking into which Jackery to get for a few days. Seems like the new model just gives more ways to charge easily.

This is such a convoluted premise. Why is the PC buried? What possible scenario are you envisioning where the gaming station would be subject to conditions that would kill the PC, but still not kill the peripherals/monitor/player?

Because Linus doesn't want to show off his underground vault bunker!

The one area where I could see a setup like this being useful is if it were used for, uh, less than legal purposes, because if the police was to raid your house and take all the PCs and hard drives with them, they may forget to dig up the yard.

But of course we don't do stuff like that around here.

In all seriousness though, these Jackery boxes are really cool and extremely versatile - however, in reality the usefulness is limited by its high price. Like, sure, little me would have absolutely loved to trick out our "secret" shack inside an abandoned barn with one of these, but it's not like we ever could have afforded one. If you're building a DIY camper though or have a garden plot or some kind of cabin that's not connected to the grid, they're great.

EDIT: I just watched the VOD of the WAN show. Yeah so looks like what I said was kind of the original idea anyway 😄

Meanwhile in 2024: Ivy Bridge-E has finally retired from gaming (but is still not dead).

Desktop: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X; 64GB DDR5-6000; Radeon RX 6800XT Reference / Server: Intel Xeon 1680V2; 64GB DDR3-1600 ECC / Laptop:  Dell Precision 5540; Intel Core i7-9850H; NVIDIA Quadro T1000 4GB; 32GB DDR4
