Laptop CPU overheating problem

Mailootje

My cpu of my laptop is overheating as hell.....

I repasted it with brand new thermalpaste.

There is no dust inside.

The fan is blowing at almost at maximum because of the temperature.

Its random shooting too 100c while its doing nothing.

The power doesn't increase and the cpu usage doesn't increase.

Already reinstalled all the drivers ect.

I'm out of idea's

Laptop specifications:

I don't see 100C in your screenshot. What I do see is CPU package power peaking at 27W which can easily push temps to the high 80s on a thin and light. This all looks normal.

the thinner the laptop, the less heatsink it has.

The less heatsink, the hotter the chip will run.   No two ways about that.

It's a known issue that super thin laptops (and the majority of laptops today) run very very warm.

TBF these temps looks fairly normal, especially for the specs you listed. You have a powerful cpu, and packing that into a small chassis presents some thermal challenges. My older gaming laptop had similar issues, especially since the wattage of the cpu was quite high. You can always reduce the wattage with something like ThrottleStop if its that much of an issue, but I wouldn't worry about it too much.

It is a touch old, you could try dismantling and replacing the thermal paste. Also while it's open you can clean out any dust

What did you use? Some thermal pastes can start to pump out in as little as a week or two.

Temperatures will go up and up when that happens.
