Samsung s20 not getting messages notification

Im not sure whats going on here but my samsung galaxy s20 is not receiving text notifications even though i am receiving the texts themselves. Ive gone through the notification settings at least a dozen times and all of them are turned on even foreground sync which i don't think actually matters. Any ideas what may be going on? im running android version 12.

Samsung recently just released the latest software update earlier on September. Is your S20 currently running the latest software update?
