Hi guys. I recently bought ASUS ROG STRIX 3080 TI to upgrade my 2070 SUPER. I have Ryzen 9 3900X and 32gb of ram.

However when I installed the card, performed clean driver installation and went to my main game (WoW) to try it out, I noticed VERY minor increase in performance. I went from 80fps to 90 fps on average and I could swear everything takes longer to load. GPU get very hot very quickly too, even though at the moment I have open case and 4 extra fans running in my case. Any advice on where to start to get it fixed? Surely 10fps increase isn't enough when upgrading from 2070 to 3080ti?

WoW is more CPU bound than anything. You will see the biggest increase in GPU bound games.

If you want to know if something is truly wrong, run a synthentic benchmark like Timespy or Super Position and use that to gauge your performance as those are GPU bound benchmarks.

Gonna try superposition now and see if I can compare it to other people. On a sidenote, what gpu do you use?

I will be honest I don't quite understand what you mean? Is there any way to fix that? Also, is 12310 your benchmark? It looks very similar, does it mean I have no problems?

superposition itself wasn't using much cpu, so it's almost completely gpu bound. At with superposition we can assume ur fine

 

the single core performance of the 3900x might be the bottleneck for some games, like ACV and hitman, but it shouldnt be to the point where it's almost equal to a 2070 super

 

just in case, check ur ram settings with cpuz

the ram is running at 2133, think you found the problem

DOCP ddr3000 is prefer since there are other timings that gets change, though just change it to ddr3000 with 1.35v should still be alot better than 2133
