Are you connected via HDMI or Display Port? Gsync only works over Display Port. Also, which GPU do you have? Gsync on Freesync does not work on GPUs older than 1000 series.

I am using the included display port cable, and a 3070ti

edit: apparently I have to turn on adaptive sync in the monitors control panel

I had the latest drivers from nvidia, and it didn't show up. so I DDU'ed in safe mode, and got 512.15 drivers auto-installed by windows and still no dice. any suggestions?

Enabling it:
1) Check your monitor OSD menu, enable adaptive sync, should look something like this:

2) Open Nvidia Control panel

Enable G-SYNC / G-SYNC Compatiuble, I recommend only in fullscreen mode, can be quirky in windowed mode

3) Turning on the indicator (shows when G-SYNC is working in the upper right corner):

(each driver update turns this setting off... for some stupid reason, I like my indicator on so if you are like me you will have to manually enable it each time)

4) To quickly test if it works I suggest using the G-SYNC Pendulum Demo:
