Hullo,

I have a Asus z-87+ and sort of freaked out when I first installed it because I couldn't find the third column of screws on the right.

My first mobo (gigabyte ultra-durable 1366 - forgot exact name)had three columns of screws, which was why I was a bit freaked out when I built a new desktop

This IS normal right? the two column of screws rather than three?

As long as the holes line up it's fine. It's just an alternative to the standard ATX format. There's still 7 expansion slots but it's a bit thinner than the normal dimensions which some lower end boards are to save money.

Yeah it still worked, except plugging in the 24 pin was a bit concerning because I had to counteract the force it takes to plug in the 24 pin from underneath the connector itself, and, by the gods, it's pointy back there.

If I didn't support it, then it would have warped the board and (probably) would have snapped, and I would have been sad

It's called FlexATX - a gap bridger between mATX and ATX. Instead of losing PCIe slots you lose RAM slots.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Yeah, i know what you mean. Mini ITX has the same problem with sticking a GPU in because of the board is just supported from each corner, so it just bends down when you stick a card in the PCI slot.

There are still 4 slots in this board.

They are fine. Bit tight to built but fine. I used such board before this one.

Yeah, I know, my build is happily humming away with the z87+ and there's no problems, just that it requires a bit more care if you're moving the motherboard in or out of the case for assembly/maintenance/whatever
