Need help with choosing GPU upgrade for a gtx 960 4GB

Hello,
I'm thinking about upgrading my gtx 960 4GB. I don't want to spend a fortune on a new card.
I have been looking at the RX 6600 which I have found for a fairly good price.

Would this card be a good upgrade?

My motherboard (b450-f gaming) is PCIe gen 3 x16 would that be a problem as the RX 6600 is PCIe gen 4?

Thanks in advance for any answers

Get that card.  Your looking at a SERIOUS performance boost over your 960.  Don't worry about the pcie specs as unless you are buying a 6900XT or something like that, it won't make any difference.  Just GO BUY THE CARD! 👍

I upgraded from that card to a 3060 last summer. Serious improvements. Especially after i also upgraded to a ryzen 5600x from my old i5 4690k.

I have also looked long and hard at the 6600 (xt), and I agree that it seems like a very good upgrade for the low/mid tier gaming setup.

So yes, in your case i'd go for a 6600. Or maybe the xt. But thats a matter of your local pricing

mITX is awesome! I regret nothing (apart from when picking parts or have to do maintainance *cough*cough*)

Regarding your motherboard, i doubt it will be an issue. It's mostly the 6500 that suffers from the issue with 3rd gen PCIe and x4.

Haven't heard that the 6600 has any problems there.
