PC Bends and Cracks

Go to solution Solved by Spotty,

Looks like it was shipping damage. I would wager that if it was left alone it probably wouldn't worsen. As long as it's not interfering with the side panel it shouldn't be an issue beyond the obvious cosmetic damage. You could probably just bend it back with your hands or carefully hitting it with a rubber mallet. Without sanding it down and welding it you won't be able to fix the crack in the metal though, but as long as you're not stressing the metal by repeatedly bending it or placing any stress on it (shouldn't be under stress where it's located) it shouldn't worsen.

What case is it?

I recently got a case and I was wondering if there was a way I could fill in the crack and unbend the part that caused the crack? Its on the top side of the case. I don't want the crack to get bigger and I'm not sure if it will overtime.

Grip and bend into place with vice grips. I'd personally just use a white sharpie to fill in the missing paint but that's just me, trying to color match the white will look worse

Straighten the bend using plier (with the jaw covered with something soft like fabric), or rubber malet (gently)
Scrape off the cracked paint (the bits on the crack's edges that seems ready to fall off with just a nudge)

Quick but meh looking fix to prevent crack from expanding by handling/accidental knock:
1. Lay duct tape over it

2. Smear a thin layer of hot glue

3. Smear a thin layer of epoxy resin
Each comes with a risk of taking off more paint with them when you take off the fix.

Proper fix :
Scrape everything, sand, repaint.

There is approximately 99% chance I edited my post
