Laptop Recommendations

looking for a laptop to replace my current one based on the following criteria any help would be appreciated! the laptop will be used mostly for programming and some light gaming from time to time.

 

1) a light laptop

2) lots of ram minimum 16gb would like option to upgrade to 32gb

3) a CPU with good single core performance

4) a very good battery life

5) and a dedicated GPU no need anything to powerful but must be from Nvidia

Sounds like you should look at an XPS. dGPU is going to significantly reduce battery life.

XPS ain't gonna be cheap, but it satisfies the other requirements.

Acer Swift X. Preferably the 2022 Version, if it's out already (Ryzen 6000 or Intel 12th Gen).

Right now, the 14" Models are still Ryzen 5000 (still strong!), and option for RTX 3050.

Quite cheap considering it's a 14" portable Notebook with a RTX 3050 dedicated GPU.

The 2022 Model switches to 16:10 and black Keycaps.

 

 

Btw: Dedicated GPU should be deactivated when not needed, so it doesn't really reduce battery life. However, it CAN activate more often, depending what you do. THEN it consumes more Power.

 

 

What do you need a GPU for? Might be helpful to know which Applications need to run.
