hi, i want to know if i can use an i7 6700k cpu in a H series motherboard?, i heared that must be used in z series only (like z170a) cause it is unlocked Otherwise I will have stability problems or something, is this true?

It should not cause any problems but you wont be able to overclock it.

No problems, I don't know where you read it but it's plain out wrong.

I'm guessing that whoever you heard this from was talking about using a 6700K in a very cheap H110 board. That could cause issues if the VRMs (voltage regulation modules) on the board are not sufficient for the 6700K to run at full speed due to overheating. It's not necessarily a "stability" issue, but it could cause you to lose performance and could, over time, damage the board.

 

What specific motherboard(s) are you considering pairing the 6700K with?
