Will this AIO change make a big difference?

I am in the middle of building my computer and I'm having a problem. I currently have a 360mm AIO in the front of my case, but my GPU will not fit. I have another case that is bigger, but I like the size of my current case. I am thinking about returning the 360mm AIO and getting a 240mm one to put in the top of my case as exhaust so that my GPU will fit. How big of a difference will this make on temperature and noise? My CPU is the 12700k.

With no idea what models of AIO, case, airflow setups. and GPU... can't help you at all.  Provide a bit more info?

EK AIO, Fractal Meshify C, 3 front intake, 3 exhaust, Gigabyte gaming oc 3070. If I go with a 240mm, I would be using the 240mm EK AIO or Liquid Freezer II.

Make all the fans intake and remove one from the back. The meshify c is made for this sort of airflow. Will also help your cpu stay cooler. As for what aio get the freezer II

a 12700K will def notice the cooling reduction, but it shouldn't be too drastic.

 

But your temps will go up.  Sadly the Meshify doesn't support a 280 up top.

an EK-AIO 360 to a large air cooler won’t see an improvement in temps but will reduce noise and allow the GPU to fit. A large air cooler will definitely beat most 240mm AIOs and even some 360s but not the EK-AIO, Liquid Freezer II, or Galahad 360
