Which gpu should I choose

OurPelko

So im planning on upgrading gpu from 1050 ti to 3060 but I don't know if I should go for 3060 or 3060 ti because my budget is 525€ and there is GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 3060 ELITE 12G for 525€ and GAINWARD GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ghost LHR for 525€. Or should I go for cheaper 3060 like GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3060 EAGLE OC 12G that is for 416€? I'm playing on 1080p and would like to play on max settings some of the newest games so I don't know if 3060 is enough.

For 1080p a 3060 is enough even on the highest settings.

Usually you can find an RX 6600 XT (faster than 3060) or 6700 XT (faster than 3060 Ti) for cheaper. Sometimes the 6700 is also cheap but availability is pretty limited on that one. Really the only downside on AMD cards are lower RT performance and Nvidia is better for professional use.

I would just go for the 3060 Ti or the cheaper one if you have to chose between these 2 or really want Nvidia for whatever reason. Both are overpriced but have similar price/performance.

No gpu is worth a price premium of 100 euros over the base model. I would get an rx 6700xt.

No 3060 is worth more than 400euro. You're just getting straight up scammed. This is 6700XT territory and it trades blows with the 3070.

Maybe it's a typo, but the 6700XT trades blows with the 3060Ti.

I found 6650 xt oc for 450€ and that is 75€ cheaper than cheapest 3060 ti. And cheapest 6700 xt is for 495€.

Meant to say 3070. Most of the time the 3070 has a slight edge over the 6700XT but often with a 50-100euro premium I'd rather save my money and get 4 less fps.

What about the regular RX 6600 XT? Or even the RX 6600 non XT? The difference between a 6650 XT and 6600 XT is very small.

I would go with the 6700 XT, but the 3060 Ti isn't a bad choice either compared to it.

Keep in mind that GPU prices are still inflated a lot in Europe. Also the 6700 XT is more in between the 3060 Ti and 3070.

I'm stubborn so if I can I vote with my wallet as much as possible, that's what I'll do. I recommend you do the same and don't give into these sellers who want huge margins. If there are no national seller worth my time and money then often there are competitive deals from abroad.

50eur for 6700XT from a 6650XT isn't much but how much more expensive is your 6700XT from a normal 6600? I'd recommend to just stick with what is the closest to MSRP. A 6600 is a huge upgrade from a 1050ti regardless. Then compare how expensive it is to a 3060. Your selected Gigabyte 3060 eagle for 416eur is the most least offensive one in the list.

It kind of is in that the 50 stuff is famous for being higher priced without much in the way of improvement.  A6700 is much faster than a 6600.  The big one for me is how much monitor is it driving? If the thing is 1080p@60 there isn’t a lot of point in a card bigger than a 6600.  Another thing to think about is the PSU.  The whole point of a 1050ti was that it didn’t need power cables.  If your PSU doesn’t have the right power cables for these cards you’re going to have to change it out.  Which can be complicated or impossible if the thing is an OEM prebuilt like a Dell, a Lenovo, or an HP.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

True, we have no way of knowing OP's setup and if it'll even manage to run the cards, not be CPU bottlenecked, will have sufficient airflow and so on. I just assumed since OP is only asking about already narrowed down GPU models, they already has it all figured out.

May or may not be the case.  Far along the path doesn’t mean the path was well looked at.

Meaning I assume you don’t want to buy yet another real soon.  I suspect a 6700xt may have trouble with a 650w PSU.  It’s on the edge. Same with a 3060 though. 6600xt may be the move in this case just because of the PSU.  Those things are pretty cheap though compared to video cards though.

It is?  That’s odd.  They have the same or very near power inputs and wattages yes?  If this is the case zero reason not to pick the6650xt over the 6600xt.  OC is generally pointless though.  It just means they tweaked it at the factory.  You can do that at home just as well.
