Upgrade an Rig or Build a New One ?

Dkmenchar

Hi there Guys :)

I posted an topic of updating my Desktop with several components but, some people told me it was better to build a new one... So i don't know what i am going to do...

These are the specs of my Desktop (It was my first build with a few bucks)

Gigabyte HM61-S1 rev 2.2

2x2 1333Mhz RAM Corsair Value Select

Intel Celeron G1620 2.7Ghz 2Mb Cache

Hitachi 2.5 500GB 8MB Cache

Asus Radeon HD5450 1Gb HyperMemory

This only cost me 140 bucks...

So what are your opinion guys? Build a new one or upgrade this Rig?

The easy and cheap solution would be getting a 750ti and waiting until you have more money and upgrading the rest of the system.

It will, to fix it you'd need to get a new one. Maybe an AMD Athlon 760K and a new mobo.

I would keep it. You have a fine motherboard. Just throw an i5 on it. Say a 4670 and throw in a 750TI or 760. That should cost you about 400 dollars.

It support only 2nd and 3rd Gen of Intel....

 :(

I was thinking that... But the problem is: I don´t want to waste an mobo like this one... It is a good mobo but i don´t find anyone who buy it or want it you know...

That's what i would do.. Keep the HDD from your other build. Throw it in there. Transfer the OS too. Should be able to game well enough.

Get the 760K, a new mobo and PSU, you should be able to get that with €400. Maybe you could use your current rig as a HTPC or small NAS.
