I really want to cut some money off this build but not drastically reduce the performance.

I would personally prefer Intel over AMD.

I plan to use my pc for primarily gaming.

Need a piece of mind for upgrading to 2 monitors or SLI

How much are you wanting to reduce it by?

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

1600MHz RAM.

I'm guessing you will be overclocking, if not then that's a way to save some money.

You don't have an HDD. Is 120Gb of SSD storage acceptable for now?

I don't know how you can really save money from this build. Maybe a little from getting a cheaper 750W PSU, maybe if you can find an R9 280X for less than that 770.

What's the difference from Z87 boards to H87?

I'm not so sure about overclocking, but i would like to give it a shot. Is it better for me to get a SSD for boot + most used programs OR SSD for boot & HDD for programs/files.

SSD for Operating System/Boot & C;// Drive, HDD for media and games.

This is a very powerful build from day one, as well as being overclock ready, SLI/crossfire ready, and easily upgradeable.

Here is the same build, except it is not SLI capable, but is still crossfire capable.  This 2nd build makes more sense if you aren't going Nvidia.

You can save about 20 or so $ with a cheaper SSD.

Take a more basic motherboard. Use a cheaper RAM.

are you serious so h87 is not stable?cmon

---

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/3yI7q  better performance with 200$ saved  . i don`t recommend SLI/CF. stock is fine

well theres more features with z87 that will allow it to be more stable then h87

Okay, WHOAH! That's waaaayyyy under budget and not the best bang for the buck. I personally wouldn't go for a H87 Mobo myself because I've read several things that mention that manufacturers use much lower quality parts compared to Z87 Mobos.

Hey, I got a fantastic idea. The OP could save a huge amount by just building every single component himself from scratch. Not sure that it'll work but at least he'll save a heap of cash by doing so. :P :lol:

it is the best bang for the buck because a better gpu will bring much better performance than all the OC you do on the cpu.and thats the most stupid thing i heard in a while and seems that you don`t understand chipsets. however you could not be more wrong about quality parts.gigabyte uses ultra durable logo to specify the quality.now do you see the lego on the board ? ok then

ofc i`m gonna use a b85 or h87 mobo with a locked cpu lol

How do you know what I don't know? Anyway, I think we should agree to disagree. I don't wanna debate this. I guess what I was getting at was the fact that, yes the OP wanted to lower his budget, however I don't think by about $1,000. I think probably just by a couple of hundred.

and i lowered the budget with 200$ not 1000$. what are you talking about ? and it has better performance

z87=stability and over clocking

h87=entry level no over clocking

..stability isn't an issue when you're not oc'ing. It's not an applicable comparison.
