Hey everyone,
I need some help looking for a solid keyboard.

I really don't want to blow my budget on this keyboard.

It has to have a number pad (going to be using it mostly for data entry).

It has to be wireless.

I don't care for RGB (blasphemy I know!) (not a must).

I would like it to be backlit but this is just a preference and not a must at all.

I have not ever tried or dabbled with mechanical keyboards.

My price range is I would say $20-60 (that feels reasonable to me)

My current keyboard that I use is the one on my dell xps13 (but I fell like getting used to another keyboard shouldn't be an issue for me)

Any recommendations or advice?

Thank you

EDIT: by wireless I mean Bluetooth and not USB dongle

Backlit and wireless? For any good brands, like Logitech... Yeah, that's an easy $100.

You can go off brand with amazon, for maybe $40-60, but it's 50/50 on if you'll get one that's a good brand. I don't recommend not well known brands though, so I can't recommend any of them.

aah,
My impression about keyboards in general is that once you get to the world of mechanical thats when prices go past $100...it seems like I'm mistaken in that regard?

Theres a large difference between good mechs and cheap mechs, but those boards are fine

This is the ONLY decent mechanical keyboard that meets all of those descriptors and that I have tried firsthand. It’s a very good board for the price and the switches can be swapped if you want to try something else. I wouldn’t recommend any membrane board, they really feel like crap once you’ve tried a good mechanical board.

Do y'all think its worth putting in the extra cash to get a KeyChron K4 V2 96%?

This would be my first entry into mechanical as well
It seems to have all that I want (albeit for a price hike)

Great board, actually. The RK96 is great but as someone who’s tried Keychron boards as well (not the K4V2, but some similar ones- albeit more expensive, from the Q series) the Keychron is def going to serve you very well. Keychron boards have great build quality and feel.
