Help with deciding upgrade

So i have a i5-9400F And a GTX 1660 Ti and im thinking about upgrading my setup but dont know where to start. Im thinking about 3080 but should i upgrade both gpu and cpu or just go for it.

You need to include a budget, location, what your goals are, monitor, games you play, etc etc.

You haven't given us nearly enough info to go on.

Ohh sorry forgot all about that
Budget: 1400$ or 1800$ at the absolute limit

Monitor: right now its a simple 1080 p monitor i think 120 hrz but could be 144 hrz (im not home right now so cant check)
Specs: attached image
Location: Denmark (Right above Germany)

Games: Some VR titels like Boneworks, B & S, Half Life. I also play ARK (there are others but its a mixed bag)
And im aiming for a upgrade that lasts with great performance. If needed I'm almost willing to "build a new one" just with the "old" case, RAM and SSD.
