I have no idea if my tags are right.

I have a question about my gpu. Is it dead, if it boots but turns off after showing random glitches on the screen and freezes. The freezes and glitches starts if i reinstall its drivers after using  my integrated gpu to uninstall its drivers  however my gpu seems to be not glitching  or freeze with no drivers installed.

(i used the ddu thing to uninstall the drivers)

The first random blackscreens and shut downs started when i stuck a usb camera after i reinstalled windows cuz of my system slowing down cuz of a lot of files and i ignored it thinking that its fine. After several days its now happening on a daily basis, i did some research and it said it was something about power, then i did what he said but didnt work. I thought it was my games that i installed but it wasnt.

I was playing roblox bru, when the problem started.

Idk a lot about this, sorry if i said something wrong. (sorry if my grammar isnt bad, correct me if it is, if you want. Thank you.)

It would be nice to know system specs.

Cause if I had to guess, you're using an ATI X1800 XT with a pentium 4 and ddr 400mhz. Again, this is a guess, I'm sure your hardware is a touch more modern?

Thank you for answering.

Its pretty old i think, cuz  i bought through facebook and its a second hand pc

My pc specs :

Optiplex 390 dt

I5 2400

Gt1030 gddr5 (heatsink)

8gb ram

250W PSU

(im sorry, if its not enough because thats all i know)

Can you test the video card in another PC? Maybe a friend or neighbor could help and let you try your card in their PC for diagnostic purposes?

where did you stick that usb?

Thank you for answering.

There where usb things on the back of the case, thats where my mouse and keyboard are connected because the front sometimes doesnt work.

And the usb camera wasnt like that before i reinstalled windows  and cleaned my hard drive files.

Usually when i plug it in, it sometimes make my pc slow but i thought it was like that because my system is old

(Sorry, if my way of giving information is a bit messy.)

yeah sounds like your gpu is dead.. use the igpu .. for surfing it should be good enough.

 Thank you for answering.

Im really sorry for forgeting to tell this,  im still new to asking help on the internet and giving a detailed  information about my problem.

When i bought the pc it only had an

i3 2100 and 4gb of ram

I added a gt1030 on it about a year ago then upgraded its cpu to i5 2400 about 4 months ago

Im sorry again.

there is no way of knowing it until you do what he suggests and tests it in another PC, but most likely prob the gpu. take it out, use the igpu.

could be some corruption or something else. if the card runs "fine with no driver"? or if its just you using the igpu from the cpu.

if it worked before it could be something else, but if it never worked, you would maybe still need to test the GPU by itself like maybe in another system.

*creates PC part tester equipment with PI* 😛  jk
