Go into Task Manager and select "More Details" on the bottom.  It'll list most things, you should be able to see what's going on.  How many tabs do you usually have open at a time?

Already have that, thats why I dont understand the high RAM usage... there is nothing that consumes a lot of RAM. Usually around 6 tabs in Opera, including the pinned ones.

You're barely using more than half your RAM, don't worry about it.

in near idle...

RAM is meant to be used. It's probably disk caching or some other background task like that.

Don't worry about it. If something needs the memory, the OS will free it up.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

There's a number of things that can cause this.

RAM reserved for an iGPU.

Hardware Reserved Memory.

Any running application with a memory leak.

Also pretty popularly. People who never turn their computers off. This can progressively eat RAM when applications don't clean up after themselves after exiting.

It is your browser that is the issue because it is chromium based. Chromium based browsers use lots of memory.

Limit your tabs that you have open. Their are other solutions that will help which can be found through a Google search. In Google, type "Opera high memory usage" to search them. Review the links that are provided. I am typing on my phone, so I am having difficulty copying link addresses that have them.

Opera only uses 1.3gb in task manager and I have it limite to 2gb. I dont understand why task manager says Opera (23) tho. I dont have 23 tabs open

1.5 gb looks fine to me.

I have tons of tabs open and watching a video.

close all tabs except one and you will see what processes other than tabs are needed.

BUT is your system running fine? everything works? no problems? no lags?

RAM is there to be used. the more Ram you have the more Ram is used. like you use the same system but with 8 Gb of Ram, you will notice that not the fully 8 gbare used more like 6 gb.

I only really started to look into it because sometimes in overwatch my fps drops from 144(locked) to about 80 for a short time and then get back up to 120 but not 144, which shouldnt be a problem with my setup (2070s and i5 9600k)

if you think it might be that your Ram is overflowing, just game while have your youtube stuff going on and check if your reach 99% Ram usage.

but to be honest it could be more like a heat problem. check your temps while it dips and go only back up to 120 not 144.
