Need help with GPU Installation. Odd resolution?

So i just installed an MSi R9 270 in a system and now that it finally works it shows an odd resolution  of 1024x768 on a 1080p monitor? Could it be because i haven't installed any drivers yet? I never had this happen with any gpu I installed.

It's because your drivers aren't installed yet, don't worry.

After you've got your drivers it'll be correct.

I can't. It won't show any res other than 768p.

Btw is you have experience with AMD drivers, (i have a 270x to! ) you will have a black border but still your resolution is 1920x1080. Go to the drivers and under Video there should be a page called "My flat screen" or something like that, you see a slider that is at 10%, drag it to 0%. I'm on a Mac right now and i can't check it but i'm just saying this so you won't freak out when you see a black border

Hmm, i Can usually use 1080p with no proprietary drivers installed.

Maybe windows has some built-in ones or sth.

yeah i hate multiple problems with the resolution on amd cards before. The driver is really important.
