Cherry MX Switch LED Colour Changers

If you have coloured LEDs already it's unlikely the covers will work very well for you. Putting red covers on blue LEDs would probably result in the backlight not being visible at all - the chance that the blue LED emits light at a low enough wavelength that it would be near the red end of the light spectrum is very small. You'd be better buying purple/violet covers which is much closer to the wavelength of blue light.

Mixing light DOES NOT work in the same way that mixing paint does. Blue with a yellow filter won't make green, and blue with a red filter won't make purple. For example if the filter is a perfect transmitter of yellow light only, then you will not see the blue light through it at all.

If you want to change the LED colour it's better to go with a colour that is on either side of the current colour you have in the light spectrum. So if your LEDs are red, orange is really your only choice. Green LEDs might work okay with blue covers but yellow ones will work better, and if you have blue LEDs then green covers will work okay and so will purple/violet. It might be hard to see the light though.

If you have white LEDs are you pretty much able to use any of these filters effectively?

Yep that's right :) white light is made of every wavelength of visible light, so the cover will absorb every colour of light but the one it appears as.

And how would you expect light blue keycaps to affect the visible colour of the blue version these things? Would it make the keys more vibrantly blue, do you think? Can post photos of keycaps if desired. Sorry for all the questions, just wanna make sure I haven't wasted my money on these things.

I assume that's on a white backlit board?

Yeah, the Quickfire TK with Browns has a white backlight.

I'd expect if you have light blue keycaps, the contrast would help the colour. With black or dark the colours could look more pale, but with lighter they should stand out more.

Though, I've not actually seen any pictures of that, so its mainly speculation.

I know I'm kinda late, but I missed the drop and I really need to know where to get those from.

I once had one of these, now I've got this.
