The PowerColor PCS+  R9 290 is great, I use it in my rig and Crysis 3 is silky smooth.

Yep, I just got my 290 as well a couple of days back.

When you are upgrading from a lower end / older GPU the biggest difference you notice is the wonderful responsiveness of all the games. I tried a number of games maxed out with AA and AF and VSYNC; more than the obvious image quality benefits what stands out is the mouse response- because the frame delivery is so good and consistent it feels like your inputs are instantaneously reflected on screen.
