For this caliber of build I'd definitely like to see something better than a 3060ti

I switched to intel here but if you indeed go forward with ryzen then I'd switch the memory as corsair usually doesn't play nice with amd

Samsung ssds tend to be a bit on the more expensive side so I switched it to something cheaper

3080 instead of a 3060ti so It would be a massive improvement in things like blender

Although if you switch some things around you could definitely fit a good monitor in as well

Mhm ik, I just followed the price on the pcpartpicker that the op posted, although if they want to spend the 2k on the pc, there can be a bit more fine tuning to their list

AMD systems don't make a ton of sense right now. The i7 12700F is $100 cheaper than the 5900X but it's just as fast in multi core workloads but a bit faster in single core workloads. There are only 4 reasons I see to go for an AMD system right now

  1. High end work station where you need multiple GPUs, motherboards that have x8/x8 are a lot less common on Z690 and are a lot more expensive than their AM4 variants. Plus you're stuck on DDR5 which is a lot more expensive and if you need 128GB of RAM, kinda sucks.
  2. ITX rigs, LGA 1700 ITX selection is pretty limited or very expensive. Plus Intel's higher end products tend to draw a lot more power than AMD's higher end so keeping them cool is a bit harder.
  3. You're looking at the really low end, AMD's $50-60 motherboard selection with actually exists and is fine for the low end 5600 and 5500.
  4. You need to have a consistent type of core (I.E. no E cores), either for something like virtualization or for workstations where you can't be on the bleeding edge.

For everything else (where you seem to be), a 12700F is the better option. Here's everything else I'd go with for that CPU

  1. The B660M-A Pro is a great board for $140. If you want to try overclocking it you can wait for either the B660M Mortar MAX or B660M PG Riptide that support non-K overclocking and should give a decent performance improvement, but it's not necessary.
  2. The Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 is a great cooler for the $40. If you aren't gonna be overclocking it's more than enough for the 12700F.
  3. You can get a cheaper kit of RAM with RGB.
  4. You can get a good 850W PSU for the same price as that be quiet! unit.
  5. Don't pay full price for Windows, just get a key from a reseller for $20
  6. Doing all that, you can afford a 3080 for the same price as your current system.
