Can i use laptop HDD on a desktop computer?

Hi there. My 1.5 TB Samsung harddrive which i use for storage died yesterday. I found cheap WD 750 GB laptop harddrive for a replacement with %100 health. Can it work on my desktop computer?

yes, SATA ports on 2.5 and 3.5" drives are identical. Just know that external WD drives (750G is a common WD USB HDD size) wont have sata ports.

They dont. WD uses custom PCB that has USB integrated into it.

Be aware many laptop HD's are 5400rpm and otherwise have sucky performance in general. Don't say we didnt warn you

I'm thinking about storage my most played games in it. I think i better look 7200rpm ones.
