TL/DR - Sell BNIB higher tier 3070 with hope of 4070 at the end of the year - or keep and stop worrying.

FIXXX

Got an EVGA RTX 3070 FTW2 Ultra for $737.
I will be able to sell my current EVGA 1070 SC2 for $250 so that basically brings the 3070 down to the lowest MSRP.
Around these parts such a higher tier 3070 is over $1000 so I'm wondering whether I should just try to sell it for $900 (BNIB) and keep the 1070 till November or whenever 4070 is launched.

Or is it wishful thinking to expect a reasonable MSRP so far in the future? The war in Ukraine will basically tank a bunch of economies + the inflation in the US will persist for a while...

I hate politics.

Supply and demand. If you see 1070's flying off the shelf at your asking price, time to sell. If not, might as well hold onto it and have a backup card.

You expect the depreciation of 1070 to be significantly higher till the end of the year? Compared to the price of a 3070 which has been opened for over 5 months at that point? 🙂

If I could tell the future, I'd be a very wealthy man.
