Using fan splitters as extension cables

Go to solution Solved by GuiltySpark_,

It will work.

Would it work to take a 4 pin fan splitter that has a female end and splits that into 2 male ends and simply use it as an extension cable with 2 male ends on each side by not connecting anything to the female end? Seems like it should work, but wanted to make sure.

1 female to 2 male fan splitter? i dont think i've ever seen such a thing, normally it's the other way around

regardless, fan splitters normally only connect the RPM Sense from one side only, so you'll have to double confirm if it's what you want electrically

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

That's the norm. Male header (pins) plug into female fan headers.
