help pls.. cx750m 8pin to 8pin cable issue with 3080ti on the way :(

so a buddy gave me a cx750m to finish my build but it came with no cables. I just ordered a 3080ti fe and it came with the adapter cable, but i still had to order the 8 pin to pin connectors to even use the adapter that comes with the fe cards. i ordered 2 cables way too quickly from an ebay listing [link at bottom of post] and didnt realize it was intended for the HX1200, RM1000i, RM750x, and RM850. does any body have any experience with these cables?? can anyone confirm whether i should just trash them and order a new psu because i cant find correct cables cheaper than a new one, or if i can trust they will work???? big thanks in advance to any response!!

They won’t work… but does cablemod not have cables that will? I’d go on cablemod and figure out what cables are correct, and order them, or the PSU’s that use the same cables.

Also, Corsair will sell guy replacement cables direct if you email them last I checked.

Oh, wow nice. Look at that. I didn’t think cx-m shared with rmi etc.

CX750M is double forward and you don't want to use a double forward PSU with a high-end GPU like a 3080 Ti. So, it's not worth to buy new cables. You better put your money in a new decent PSU with LLC platform like the RM850x.

Yep.  Everything Corsair made in the past 10+ years has the same 6-pin and 8-pin.

Yeah. This was a terrible choice.  I mean, I get it that it was "free", but it's not an appropriate power supply for your build.

thanks for the responses I ended up just ordering an rm850x to be safe. I figured with as much as I invested into the card i might as well make 1000% sure there wouldnt be any issues before even attempting an install. though for some reason my 3700x i just got wont work with my msi b550 a pro, even after installing the non beta latest hardware. lol started a new thread but thanks for steering me in the right direction everyone!
