Nvidia RTX Compatibility

Hey there,

I have an ASUS ROG Z390-E motherboard with an RTX 2080 Super installed on it, would there be any chance I can add an RTX 3090 GPU alongside my existing GPU using an NV-Link?

Using NVLink, no. SLI only works with identical GPUs. Besides, games don't use SLI anyway, so it's not like it would help performance.

 

If you do something more along the lines of 3D modeling that can use more than one card, then maybe, but odds are you'd be better off flipping your 2080S and just getting a CPU upgrade.

I would just install the 3090 and keep the 2080 as a backup, or just build another pc for the 3090 with newer components and have a backup pc.
