I tried to update the bios on my b450 gaming pro carbon ac, but I forgot that you had to hold the bios flashback button until it starts flashing. I just held it for a few seconds and then let go. The bios button started blinking but went out within a minute. Did I fry something can I shut my ox off now? My fans are at 100% which I think is normal.

What does the manual say for that process? I haven't tried it on that board but that usually means it is done based on the times I have done it in the past on different boards.

It says hold the button until the light starts flashing. Do you think it’s safe to shut down? I tried to shut it down but the normal power button doesn’t shut it down anymore.

What image was on the drive plugged in to the board? And, I know this is redundant, but was the drive in the right port?

No image or light anymore. Just blank. Been 15 minutes and fans still at 100%. The motherboard has its egg still on but the bios button has no red light.

Oh sorry, I meant what was on the usb drive

Now that I think about it, I didn't unzip it. I went specifically to the file that was needed and renamed it, I think it still works but it is something to consider.

No light anymore, used to be a red light, not anymore.

Have you tried to restart the pc? Did you double check that the new firmware was correct for your board? Also, if it isn't already, try formatting the drive to FAT32.

I have tried restarting no power button works. The only thing that might work is turning off the power supply.

Ah, but yes, the .CAP file should go directly onto the drive.

Seriously guys,stop misunderstanding each other...

@kaiosz is talking about the file on the USB drive for flashing the BIOS

@BlazerBuddy is talking about the image he/she sees on the screen/display/monitor.

I really don't like correcting people much, I try to just reword whatever I said

The usb drive with the bios needs to be fat32 for system and the bios needed to be renamed to the name the manufacturer states exactly. That is what I needed to do on my Asus board.
