Budget (including currency): $5000-7000NZD ish

Country: New Zealand

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: media storage, games such as RPG witcher 3 and the like, city builders eg,anno1800, would like it to ideally be VR capable to play the likes of no man sky in VR basically i want a machine with a lot of storage that has the ability to play a few games on as well as the usual internet jazz youtube, netflix etc.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): no parts in mind but i aim to build my machine to fit in a mobile adventure bus that i plan to travel and work out of (work is not computer based but the ability to write invoices may be used on it) i plan on using my smart tv as 1 monitor primarily for the netflix youtube side of things, i may have another 2 monitors for games and other computer based activities that a large tv would not be suitable for. peripherals i have covered, my main issue is as its going to be in a moving vehicle what would be the best build types and components for the build and how should i put them together so they can withstand vibrations during driving minor jolts and bumps from road driving potholes and the like obviosly hdd dont like this sort of thing i would imagine gpu and other parts also wouldn't like it much either i know ssd would be a better storage option but as for the other parts and obstacles i have i need some advice please and thank you.

My recommendations would be to get GPU on riser cable, That way it wont samage PCIe slot. Get case without glass panels, Glass may won't be that much problem, But still, Better be safe than sorry. Also, Don't get anything liquid.

Probably horizontal PC case would be a good idea.

The preferred option is a laptop. They are built to withstand a fair amount of movement. If more media storage is needed, there are numerous external drive options. As long as any HDD are powered off while moving they will be relatively safe.

A desktop system should either use the relatively compact stock cooler when possible. If that won't work then an AIO will put the least amount of stress on the motherboard when moving. Tower coolers, especially higher performance models may stress the motherboard, possibly damaging traces over time.

M.2 drives would be my choice for storage. Mostly because they are mechanically part of the motherboard and have no cable runs.

A desktop gaming GPU will need bracing. If a riser will not be used, a motherboard with reinforced slot would be a good idea.

Securing a desktop case will have to take into account the need for good airflow. Both in and out, ideally with unrestricted exhaust that doesn't immediately mix with intake air.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

#1 thing. No liquid, and get the gpu on a riser cable. Besides that. Could you build an enclosure with shock absorbing material around a case or something? Idk, get creative.
