Should I upgrade my PSU?

Vakaling

Hi,

Few months back i had to buy a new PSU, but my budget was limited so I have had settled for silentiumpc vero l3 bronze 600w. It's been working fine (although it could've been a bit more silent), however very soon I'll be upgrading my PC and now i'm getting a little worried.

I don't know if it'll be safe to continue using this PSU with: • 5600X • rx 480 • 3200 mhz DDR4 • b550 aourus elite v2 • 1 NVME and 2 SSDs

Also i plan on upgrading my gpu to 6600XT later this year. New PSU isn't in my budget and i'd have to choose betwen it and new 3200 mhz ram.

PLS HELP! D:

What on earth is this, I'd STRONGLY recommend a PSU upgrade. PSU is the one part that I cannot recommend cheaping out on. It's the one thing that can blow up your whole system if it's a poor unit with poor protections when it goes bad. Get something like a Corsair RM750, MSI MPG A750GF is pretty good too, Seasonic GX-750, all good options I feel are well worth the money.

Is it really that bad though? On LTT PSU tier list it's on a Tier C, so it's supposed to be safe, right?. After some research, I didn't really notice anyone complaining about this model, in fact people are actually saying that it's "ok". My last unit was a low end bequiet and it lasted 7 years so that's why I'm not so sure whether i really should upgrade, especially because it'll strain my budget and because I'm not convinced that it's that bad.

However I can be wrong, so it would be nice if I could get an opinion from someone who knows this brand and has some knowledge on their products D:

No, you're fine. It's not the best but it isn't bad either. It's on Corsair CX-M 2015/2021 level

Please give us one example of a "whole system" blowing up or please stop with this sensationalist nonsense.

its ok for low end systems, wouldn't in good faith recommend it for any decent mid range and above. it may work fine but generally go for one with good reviews, good warranty policy etc.

Had a relative's pc running on a cheap no name psu. power surge, no power on after. only parts that made it was hdd and cpu, motherboard 0 response on another psu, ram, unable to post on known good systems. So yes. poor power supplies with little no protection can take parts out with it.
