Seeking CPU Upgrade Advice

Hello! I want to upgrade my CPU, and am looking at a couple different options: (I know I will need to purchase a new motherboard as well.)

 

My current build is as follows:

CPU: Intel - Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Motherboard: ASRock - B250M-HDV Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400, 16GB (2x 8GB)

Storage: 120 GB SSD 

Storage: 1 TB HDD

 

These are the CPUs I am looking at.

Core i3 10100F https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LKJPR5X ($80)

 

How much of a difference is there between the 5600G and 5600X considering the price?

Are the AMD processors better enough than the Intel ones to warrant the price premium?

What CPU do you recommend in this case? (I don't want to spend any more than ~300 including motherboard)

A little under 10%, Source: Tested them myself running cinebench R23, 5600G- 10313, 5600X- 11073

 

If your use case is really just gaming and you want to spend less, I'd recommend getting an i3-12100f

Ok, thanks for the info! 

I've looked around a little and it seems like the i5-12400 is also a good deal if I'm willing to spend a bit more: if I go with one of these LGA 1700 chips, what motherboard would you recommend?

personally i'd get whatever seems like a good value as a bundle, as with low power draw cpus like the i3 12100 or i5 12400 there isnt much harm going with a lower end board as long as it has all the ports and features you would want (Type-C, Wifi etc)
