Hello, i'm a gamer that wants a upgrade, my current pc consists of a gtx 1060 3gb, intel core i5-7400, 8gb single channel 2400MHz ram.

Some questions i have is will the stock cooling in the case be enough for the components, and will i be able to eventually move windows 10 from an HDD to the SSD?

I'm also a first time builder, my previous pc was a pre built, so if you have any tips feel free to share them. Thanks in advance.

The Define series of cases really prioritize silence over cooling. I would definitely get additional fans, or if as-quiet-as-possible computing isn't a major concern for you I would look at other cases, even if it's just the Fractal Meshify series instead.

I understand you "want a computer that will last for years," but you are really going to be paying a premium for 32GB of DDR5 memory here without seeing a meaningful return.

I don't think I quite understand your question on moving Windows from an HDD to an SSD. Disk cloning software exists, but it would probably be recommended to simply do a fresh install of Windows on the new build.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Quiet cooling isn't really a concern for me, and i guess i could get 16gb of ram instead of the 32gb, then in the future i could upgrade to quad channel 32gb if necessary. Also is it possible to install windows 10 without paying for it again?

This is the way I'd go, balancing the desire to be on the "future-proof" DDR5 standard with lowering upfront cost. 16GB is going to get the job done for gaming for a while yet.

Note however that four modules of RAM does not mean quad channel. On this board (and any current mainstream board) it will still be dual channel, with two modules in each channel.

One stick of ddr5? Is it even faster than dual channel ddr4?

Should absolutely do 2x8GB for 16GB now and then add two more 8GB sticks later... I assumed based on OP's reference to quad channel he wasn't thinking of doing just one stick.

Okay so small problem, i'm unable to find ram sticks with 8gb each of DDR5 ram. I can only find single slot 16gb, dual slot 32gb or dual slot 32gb

This would be two sticks of 16gb each, but DDR5 is about 50% faster than DDR4, atleast thats what i have heard

It's not, yet.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Ouch. Yeah I didn't realize that, there's barely any 2x8GB kits and the ones that do exist aren't even a savings.

Guess i'll just have to go with 32gb. And i know i should have said this when i first posted the topic, but do you have any suggestions for a new monitor. As of now i have a 27" 1080p 60hz monitor, with a rtx 3080 this would be a bit underwhelming... I would prefer around 27" to 32"

I'd start a new thread over in the displays subforum with your main system specs (CPU and GPU) and describe your goals (I assume you want to game at 1440p at least if not 4k) and a budget for how much you want to spend on the monitor.
