1700 socket cooler mounting

Anyone know about mounting a Cooler on a 1700 socket when you dont have a 1700 bracket? I know Asus boards have additional holes that make this possible but I heard the height difference could be an issue. I wish Linus had talked about this when he was mounting the Cooler.

 

Trying to find a Cooler that is in stock and comes with a 1700 bracket and is not too expensive is sometimes a little difficult to find.

It's hard to see in that diagram, but it's a height difference for cooler mounting. That's where things like this were working. Simply adding washers was helping to take up that extra space. It was dropping temps, but if yours aren't high, it's really not a thing for you to do.

 

The hole spacing is the same. The Z axis on the mounting is 0.68mm shorter. Some coolers have worked with LGA 1200 mounting. Some have needed washers as spacers.

What cooler do you have? Most of the companies either sell a bracket for very cheap or will give you one.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.
