Why is my system (gpu?) now making louder fan noises?

Woke up today on Elden ring, noticed my system fans are way louder and making a whirring noise. Its not too loud, but definitely a lot more.

It wasn't doing this before, like a fan curve has randomly changed overnight or something

 

What gives?

I saw somewhere that gpu will speed up depends on its temperature

Reboot the system, if it is still happening then, open up some GPU tuning utility like AfterBurner and tell us what sort of temperatures it is reading. 

 

Within afterburner you can also manually adjust the fan speed, but if it is doing it automatically, either some setting changed or it is getting extra hot in your case. 

Fuck you scalpers, fuck you scammers, fuck all of you jerks that charge way too much to tech-illiterate people. 

Unless I say I am speaking from experience or can confirm my expertise, assume it is an educated guess.

Also have a Alienware Alpha R1: i3-4170T, GTX 860M (≈ a 750 Ti). 2x4GB DDR3L-1600, Crucial MX500
