Motherboard front panel USB charging power

So I’ve been looking online to try and figure out how much power the front USB C header on my ROG x570-e strix gaming wifi ii can provide to a device I need to charge, and I can’t actually find anything on the asus site or elsewhere. Is there a general rule of thumb for motherboard front io connections for usb c gen 3.2 for power delivery?

Generally it's 5v 0.5a minimum. Worst case just plug it in.

Thank you for the quick response and getting me the general minimum charging power—I’ll plug it in for sure, I just like knowing the specs of it. I guess plugging it in and then seeing how quickly it charges will be easy enough to figure it out.

standard is 5v 0.5A for USB 2.0  , 5v 0.9A for USB 3.0   BUT most motherboards have a limit of around 2A for a group of 2 usb 3 connectors, or a group of 4 usb 2.0 connectors.

So if only one of the two usb connectors on the front panel are used, there's a very good chance you'll be able to take up to 2A of current from it.

USB charging ports on motherboard would not be sufficient to supply modern smartphones.

They are rated up to 2A (differs from motherboards). So thats about 10W, newer phones will not charge below 2A, unless you turn it off.

For the front panel, i've never heard any motherboard that has special charging ports, since they do not control the end port (the case do).

I did not know that! I learn something new every day. So then if I wanted to know what’s what, I’d also need to know the specs of the front panel io on my case, yeah?

The front panel will follow the standard, i suspect there wont be any focus on charging (i mean like quickcharge standard).

I suggest skip phone charging on pc, best case it would help the phone alive (stay on current level), or die for not enough juice.

Right on, so basically I should only expect to charge a wireless mouse.
