Mouse left click malfunctioning? Razer Mamba Elite - possible to fix?

The Torrent

When i hold the edge of a window for example to resize it, it will unselect it and not resize sometimes. When im highlighting text to copy, it just doesn't work properly. I have a razer mamba elite. It's not possible to replace the click buttons, is it?

Thanks

Pretty sure that mouse just uses a standard Omron switch. Sounds like it's going bad. You can replace them, requires soldering, but typically not that bad. I've done several of my Logitech mice now.

Just realize but the time you order a couple switches, usually I would replace the slides / feet on the bottom, and pay shipping it's a repair that will run you roughly $20. That's assuming you have the soldering stuff already.

Sometimes the metal spring in the switch can be fixed manually.

If the mouse is a few years old, I'd just replace the mouse. The Mamba isn't a good mouse.

I can solder. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185308985049?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item2b2546b6d9:g:kSMAAOSwMvNgrnPG&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAAA4CMT40Tr%2BbSnqAxGj2Fc8CXQjb8P7NpOQEEfOb667DaHe5wFkURg6PF7r87TbbY0QxPX8Ju0KHxSEctoGb1qg0G5fJ9FOtf7bCJiviaLAuc3IdqMI42yTeH30xUlUHGwgmuh50eWqo5g84462Q27Au%2Bxlal44p1tVBZrpX935YmCf1Loj859wOkTwJWnLTQ01UxQoNs%2BminDnNPh8%2B9RgPTiZrvLJTgVqkKkaO1ZawFeJ12mSrMZ%2Bdks60QZSGN7NnBJHFS1GqSQ9jHBeDiTBo3ZuSVNqI%2BBMvVq1fVYm0R1|tkp%3ABFBM6Mu3ovpf

Will this work? Are they all the same or should i get a 'branded' one or something? (Not sure if Omron is a type or a brand)

Also i got ceramic feet on my mouse which dont cover the screw holes so repair shouldn't cost me more than a quid or two which seems to be the price of that switch i linked, which is great 😄

I can also see Kailh make some which are about 5 quid for 2, could those be better?

Old design, quite large, heavy, outdated sensor, poor build quality, bad side buttons, legacy Omron switches... do you need more?

It came out in 2018 if it's even the "5G" version.

As for the switches, yes, Omron is a brand. That linked should work. Can't tell you if the feel will be the same.

when did 4 years become an old mouse. im concerned. And i like its 'old design', its side mouse buttons are great imo, the switches broke yh of course but thats the only issue ive had with it tbf, sensor? its all mumbo jumbo anyway csgo gods win with poundland mice. and i like its weight. cant really feel it anyway i use a hard mouse mat with ceramic feet.

ALSO, i was about to buy some Kailh 8.0 switches, then found this 3 year old reddit post where some guy said breath humid air onto the switches and uh.... it works now lmao. lets see if it keeps working and for how long.

Don't sweat it, you like it, fix it. Every one has their own opinion. I don't agree with many things that get recommended on forums sometimes.

The switch you posted I believe should be the "correct" style (I don't own that mouse), but it is the common switch for most mice.  It is the China made version. Many people, myself included would go to a Japan made style when doing this. They tend to be more reliable. It will have a slightly different feel, and slightly higher actuation force. To me it's barely noticeable, but some people claim it feels very different. I had to put two mice side G502s side by side to feel the difference.  The switches I've been using are D2F-F the lack of the "C" means it's a Japan made switch. The Japan made switches are more expensive, but again, tend to be more reliable. I generally do left and right at the same time. I generally leave all the others alone while inside.

This is one of my Logitech mice apart, generally once you get them apart the soldering is pretty easy.

I have the same mouse, after a few years of use eventually the clicks will gone bad man, in my case even the scroll wheel also.
So i replaced it with Kailh Black GM 8.0.(Send it to a repair guy, since i don't have the time and soldering skills), works perfectly fine now.
So if it gone bad for real, you can just fix it yourself if you can solder it.
