Dear reader,

I am looking to get some more info on gaming laptops. I am going to drop arround 2 grand. I have herd that msi has issues, but I don't know if that is true. I am looking at an ailenware x15, but am open to ideas. Thanks for the help!

It’s all about use case and screen.  Is the use case anything other than playing video games? And if not what kind?  How you want to play could make a difference here.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

kind of like some hard-core games. I need a laptop that's similar to this one, but I'm open to other brands except Apple.

Anything besides games that is hard work?  Like hardcore excel or some kind of graphics or animation or high resolution video editing or some such?  Matters for core count and memory size.

Apple seems to be actively avoiding gamers.  They did stuff to their new chips that lock some games out for no discernible reason.  Apples cannot be used for gaming these days.

I don’t know what is needed for 4k editing.  My suspicion is that means you want at least an 8 core (which an i7 is) and more than 16gb for real time scrubbing.

yeah something like that. I just don't know what brands are better than others, and I am also seeing if there is any issues with msi
