My friend had gotten a slightly faulty i7 3770k, gtx 680, 120 liquid cooler, 240gb ssd, 16 gskill ram 500 psu for only 100 aud or 75usd. definetely better than mine but i suggest it to him cause i already have a rig

That CPU is going to be slow as hell by modern standards and really isn't worth much. Problem is I don't think you can get a better system for $280 USD, at least not with a dGPU. If you can, save up a bit since again, everything but that GPU in that system isn't really worth anything, and getting a much better system would likely only cost $100 more.

EDIT: Forgot you could probably just buy a 1060 3GB and a 3770k prebuilt for about $300, depending on your market. That will be much faster. So no $280 isn't really worth it, unless the used market in australia is that bad.

i managed to overclock it to be better than a i5 7500, and they have same core and threads. What prebuilt? I did spend alot for aesthetics

80 userbecnhmark score is quite good. @RONOTHAN##

16gb ram, 2 kingston blue and 2 crucial at 1600

And yes, mobo and cpu deals in aus are expensive. I dont want to try upgrade, ill just buy a new one soon

If you already bought it, why are you asking? It's not like you can return it.

First, Userbenchmark's cross hardware comparisons are useless (it has an i7 that's faster than an i7 extreme edition which is faster than an i3 which is faster than that first i7, I forget the exact CPUs). And the i5 750 is missing a lot of modern CPU instructions, so in the couple of tests Userbench runs, it might be faster, but bring in an actual benchmark from within the last 3-4 years and it's likely to fall on its face.

Also, if you're spending less than $500 on a system, aesthetics really shouldn't be a priority. $20 extra on aesthetics could be spent to upgrade to a better video card, more RAM, faster/more storage, etc. In the low price ranges $20 more can get you quite a bit more performance.

tbh not really, and the userbenchmark are accurate, youre probably looking at the wrong generations

dont use the website as a whole, you shouldnt debate a know FACT. userbenchmark shouldnt be used.

No. No they are not.

It's been very well documented that all of their direct hardware-to-hardware comparisons are meaningless. Again, there's at least one looped comparison, where 3 different CPUs are all listed as faster than each other.

well rgb is most important in pcs and pcs are only used for decorations in my setup

Then why are you asking if it was worth it? If you like the look of it, you were happy with the price, and the performance is good enough for what you're doing, who cares? It's your PC and that's all it really matters for. Your original question was asking "are these specs worth it?" and the answer to that question, by my beliefs, is no. I also don't consider RGB and stuff adding to the value of a system under $500 though, and nothing about RGB was listed in the original post, so take that for what you will.
