so my gpu usage is very low in games and i cant figer out if its a software side issue or hardware side(i do have a felling its my ram thats the hardware bottle neck) can anyone help?

CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz

RAM - 2x2(4GB) DDR3 one stick is on around 600mhz and the other is at around 800 mhz

GPU - GT710 2GB DDR3 and 8GB/s GPU memory bandwidth

heres a screen shot of gpuz saying the cap reason is idle and idk if its a software side issue

based on your other post, it sounds like it's a cpu bottleneck.

hm well i was thinking the same but not untill i saw used another set up with a pentium runing at 3.3GHz and gt 730 with 8 gb ram and there was no bottle necks there so i went on asumeing it was my ram

it could be your ram, what is the ram usage in game? and if your cpu is at 100% in game, the cpu is bottlenecking as well. no offense, but it a pretty old low end build, this is to be expected.

based on your other thread, it sounds like it is going to 100%, task manager is a bad indicator of usage, i would trust afterburner more.

ok well do u think the gpu bottle neck is ram or cpu or maybe even both

It's hard to believe anything would bottleneck a GT 710. But it might be the CPU in your case.

I'd recommend changing everything. Pretty much anything new is a lot better than the stuff you already have.

To be blunt, pretty much anything newer than 10 years is better.

do not purchase new pc parts with no way of actually testing/deploying them as you will not be able to determine if the parts are functional before their return period has expired

is there a way i can test what parts are good with what?like a website that when i select parts for a full pc and it will tell if it has some flaws? like a build test

you need to test the parts you receive in the mail. a website isnt going to test the physical parts and compatibility has nothing to do with functionality testing
