Installing a hand me down 3960x

I'm installing a loose 3960 in a new build, but I've no mounting hardware or the orange alignment sled. Am I going to damage to contact pads tightening it back down without it. It seems as if it'd like to slide forward and induce friction.

Thanks for any advice. I'm about to just wing it.
