Fan bundled with the NH-D15S doesn't work (Please read the whole thing because I don't have enough space here)

Contact Noctua support, they should get you a replacement shipped out quickly.

In the meantime yeah, go ahead and swap it. Or if your temps are good enough and you have strong front fans, don't even put a fan on it lol. I'm running the D15S on my project PC with no fan for itself, just 2 120mm fans in the front of a Node 804, 1 120 rear. Pulls enough air through to keep a stock 5960X below the 60s.

So I recently bought a new CPU Cooler, the NH-D15S. It comes with a round A14 fan. That fan just happenes touch the round plastic edge when spinning and makes a very loud sound. Because I can't have a fan that does that, I was thinking of removing the fan and putting one of my chassis fans as CPU fan so the BIOS doesn't complain and run it without a fan until I can get it replaced.

I really don't plan playing any games while im like this, I just wanna have a functional PC.

Is my idea stupid? Should I go ahead with it? FYI. I have a Ryzen 5 5600X.

I got it from a local store. Would it be better to ask noctua for a replacement or the store (I have a warranty)?

Also, I got a Cpu Fan error from my BIOS when I tried not putting a fan on the cpu fan header. Can I force disable that or should I not and set a chassis fan as cpu(when I say that I literally mean keeping the fan on the chassis but just switching the header)?

If the store can be faster than Noctua then sure. I haven't had to ask Noctua for a new fan, but I did need an LGA1366 mount kit for my D15S. I sent them the Newegg invoice for the cooler, literally just a screenshot of the ebay purchase for my motherboard, and they shipped me a mount kit right away.

I use a chassis fan as CPU (shuts up the no CPU fan error) and just set it to a static RPM (CPU fans usually want to ramp up and down a lot, and I find that more annoying than a constant louder drone I can easily tune out).

Is there a chance that they'll ship it in the weekend or should I expect a weekday response?
