I have the ryzen 5 3600 with an asrock b450m-pro4 Rev 2.0, looking to upgrade motherboards within about a 200 dollar budget. What are your guys recommendations? I've been looking at msi b550 gaming plus

Why are you thinking of upgrading your motherboard? What is it not doing that you need it to do? Unless you need like x8/x8 or something or your motherboard broke, it generally doesn't make much sense to get a new motherboard, and you should just get an expansion card for the feature you want.

My Opinion, pointless upgrade.
AM4 is a dead end, you don't need a better mobo for Ryzen 5 3600, and when the time comes for CPU upgrade you will need to change the mobo again (cause new socket, AM5) and you will probably need new RAM (DDR5 instead of 4).

if you are getting ryzen 5800x or 5900x then get the MPG b550 sure. but without upgrading to those do not bother

With Zen 5 set to release this year, I'd hold and wait for Zen 5 instead of making upgrades within AM4.

 

If you need an upgrade 'right now', then unless you also swap your CPU with a Zen 4 equivalent, you'd just be throwing away money.
