Hello workbench forum,

I'm having severe issues with a relatively new build that I haven't figured out.

Started noticing that in more CPU intensive games my keyboard would become unresponsive (but still lit up)

-Unplug and replug keyboard would temporarily fix this.

Sometimes accompanying this (other times not, but under same-ish load) the gaming performance will "snap into suck mode" , about half the usual framerate.

-A restart would usually temporarily fix this.

My wireless mouse would sometimes not respond after a fresh boot.

-Unplug/replug fix

I eventually endeavored to try and fix this with a bios update and a fresh install of windows.

After doing that the system appeared legitimately unstable, resetting itself frequently while just in windows.

The motherboard I was using was technically used, and apparently had an rma history with gigabyte. So I thought this could very well be a mobo issue.

I purchased a new motherboard of the same model , I'm still within the free return window and probably will because swapping in the new mobo did not resolve the issue.

If anything the newer mobo almost seems more unstable, and will rarely even get as far as actually booting into windows.

The bios by this point is super slow and almost unresponsive, with each bios page loading slowly from the top down

I was running 4-dimm 32gb memory config which technically wasn't on the motherboard supported ram list. And I noticed "better" stability if manually set to well below xmp values.

So I purchased new officially supported memory 2 dimm set (that'll I'll probably return) , did not make a difference.

I've also tried booting without any usb devices plugged in, removing psu extension cables, unplugging storage drives.

Next logical step to me is either swapping psu or cpu, to see what is causing the instability.

Getting frustrated guessing wrong so many times and deconstructing my custom hardline loop,

So seeing if anyone has any insight

Did you flash the bios on the new motherboard?
