Is this a joke? Never have a seen a system so woefully built in 2022. 4GB of NON-ECC RAM, 128GB of storage, and a mid-grade out of date Intel Core i5. And the regular price of being ~$1500+ is offensive! My cellphone from last year has a better screen, more RAM, a mobile baseband, and a faster processor... and cost less, what a concept. Dell is insane.

Estimated value 1500$ my ass, that thing is tops 700$ value, not to mention the garbage low power i5 (obliterated by amd cause has less cores than a comparable ryzen 5)

Neither do i see any reason to buy this pile of trash, its not even ecc so might aswell be a 500$ consumer laptop and not a fake workstation laptop

Would this have anything to do with the semiconductor shortage? Like in normal times this would probably be $699 or something, but since chips are so hard to come by, maybe that would explain the rise in price? Either way, it's a ripoff but so is paying $1000+ for a GPU that MSRPs for $500, so go figure.

Nope. It's because it says "Precision" in the title. They think people will pay anything for that name. I can get a Lenovo with a Core i7, 16GB of the same non-ECC RAM, 512GB WD SSD, and a 400-nit Dolby Vision display with DCI-P3 coverage (albeit nowhere near cinema grade or calibrated probably). But the cost for the Lenovo, for business with 3YR on-site warranty is ~$950. I could get one with a Ryzen 7 and a 1TB SSD for LITERALLY even cheaper. It's a complete farce.

It's really something to say my iPhone has more RAM. Really, what an absolute joke.

Is a Dell 3xxx series. No it's not a joke, they are actually just that shit.

This laptop isn't intended for you, it's intended for large business use. It's not "overpriced" because of the name, it's "overpriced" because of the 3-5 year next day onsite service contract you tack onto it for $100-300.

People ignorantly whining about business products with business support with business pricing will never cease to amaze me.
