Is it safe to install and remove a CPU with a magnet or telescope magnet?

My fingers always get shaky and I have even managed to drop a CPU into the socket once before, so I am not comfortable changing CPUs if I may be honest. I feel like using a magnet would help me align it better.

I don't see how you could do any damage that way, but I also can't see how that would be very helpful either. If a few other people say it's safe may as well try it.

It is possible that a strong enough magnet could mess up internal components by physically moving them but a weak magnet should be fine I think assuming the heat sink is magically conductive.
