Im thinking about getting into folding and mining but no clue where to start. any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated

Folding is simple, just go to https://foldingathome.org/ , download the client and run it. The client is easy to configure at a basic level. Choose a username, make sure you get a passkey, and please consider joining Team LTT (#223518).
