Rear and front USB Ports suddenly stopped working

Hey,

 

I have a fairly old second PC I only use for work and since today not a sinlge USB Port works. What I find curios is, that not only the USB Ports in the rear don't work, but the USB Ports in the front IO of my case are dead too. When I boot up, all devices light up like usual (my mouse for example) and as soon as windows loads, everything went dark and nothing works. Obviously I tested all devices on my gaming pc, everythink works fine.

 

Can this be a problem with windows or my mainboard? Anyone got an idea?

How are you able to control the system?? If possible check device manager to see if the USB controller driver got messed up by Windows Update perhaps.

 

Might need to break out an old PS/2 keyboard to get the job done, or bite the bullet and spend $15 on a 120GB SSD to test it with a 2nd install.
