Laptop screen going black when installing GPU drivers

TheoPlays97

On my Lenovo laptop the screen freezes whenever installing GPU drivers. I tried connecting an external monitor however the same issue was present. Does anyone know of any troubleshooting methods thanks for reading.

How long does it freeze for?

Is the bios up to date?

Like @emosun said, you should get the driver from Lenovo if you can.  There might be other drivers you need.  DisplayDriverUninstaller was popular for removing old drivers, don't know if it still works.
