CPU usage in games goes too low and drops the frame

afcnich

So, basically in my laptop whenever I play games, ive always noticed random drops of frames and it just doesnt stabilize itself. So i went to download MSI afterburner to check whats wrong and apparently my CPU usage suddenly goes as low as 1-2% and then goes up to normal 60-ish%. This behaviour is seen on games like PUBG, Apex, GTA V, Genshin Impact, etc basically the heavy games. But the GPU isnt even bothered, like whenever my CPU usage goes up and asks for the GPU, my GPU provides enough for a stable frame rate but the CPU itself isnt using so therefore, drops of frames. I feel im doing something wrong because i shouldnt be facing this problem with my system, especially the fact that i bought this pc 2 months back.

I would monitor RAM usage. 8GB for gaming is low by today's standards.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus ROG Strix B650E / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Powercolor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil/ EVGA 750W GQ / NZXT H5 Flow

I think you might be asking too much from that system if you have no dedicated GPU and no proper cooling.

Your PC is inadequate for playing these games, straight up.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.
