So I've ended up buying a few bad PC ports only to find out they don't work properly. A couple of examples:

Bioshock is a brilliant game, However the PC Remaster has a rather serious bug when it comes to using a controller. Every time you open the menu while playing with a controller, the game takes longer and longer to load the menu, eventually leading to a complete crash. I ended up buying the collection again on PS4

Borderlands GotY Enhanced for some reason won't save your Display settings. What little I've played of it is good, but it's nauseating at a locked 40 fps.

What I want to know is are there any other bad PC ports with unfixed bugs that I should avoid buying on PC?

A lot of bad ports covered, here.

The only game-breaking experience I can personally recall is with the game, Greedfall.

It had a decent storyline and nice gameplay, but there's a horrible bug that can break the main storyline, and it took forever for the developers to patch.

I literally quit the game, as the only way to fix it was to go back to a previous save, and turn in your quests in a different order.

Very annoying to have that happen when you're a solid 15-20hrs into the game.

I would never buy another game from the developers, Spiders.

Honestly, putting Enslaved on this list made me feel that writer has not seen many bad PC ports

I think his description of the game was fair.

Quote

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (2013)

Three years. That’s how long Ninja Theory had to make a PC port of lush, post-apocalyptic Andy Serkis chimp ‘em up Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. It was released on consoles in 2010 but didn’t arrive on PC until 2013, in a state that’s since become the metric for measuring lazy PC conversions: low res assets, capped at 30fps, no VSync option in the settings, enforced motion blur. There are certainly far worse conversions on this list, but Enslaved is bad in a specifically disappointing, ‘you could have been so much more’ kinda way.

Since we cant list thousands of games, you just have to do some research before buying, for "bad PC ports" that usually takes about 2 minutes to find out.

Also it depends on the individual what's a "bad port".

No keyboard / mouse controls? That doesn't bother  me at all as I exclusively use a gamepad to to play games, etc.

The direction tells you... the direction

The only game that I can think of at the moment with a bad port is EA Sports FIFA. I have the game on my PC since 2018 and not much has changed. They still have a problem with vertical sync, in-game loading frames per second dropping to 5 or game menus very slowly responsive are just some that come to my mind.
